HOUSE LOVE

Check out this lovely, timber filled home, that I am completely in love with. Do you think they would mind if I picked it up and plonked it over in here in Australia? I think it would sit perfectly among the gum trees!

COLOUR GRADUATION

This week's object crush is the stunning timber blocks 'Trift' by Judith Seng. As described on Judith Seng's website;

Trift explores the ideal of perfect, high-gloss surfaces by creating and destroying them within the same object. Each form and surface derives from the individual size, characteristics and gradual transformations over time of the underlying tree-log.

I am so taken with the sheer gorgeousness of them! You definitely need more than one!

It also comes in a desk lamp version.

SNOW TIME!

We are off to the snow on Thursday and I can't wait! Although a trip to the snow involves a 13 hour car trip as living in the driest state of Australia means that we don't have any ski fields! So the closet is the stunning Falls Creek over in Victoria. Whilst I love where we are staying (picture the most idyllic alpine setting down the bottom of the mountain), this gorgeous apartment complex 'Fjall' in the ski fields would be just divine! Designed by Salter Architects and with the interior design by the highly coveted Melbourne firm Hecker Guthrie (formally HP&G), it has a very distinct Scandinavian feel.

LONDON AQUATICS CENTRE

Hello all! Hope you have all been well. I have been a very slack blogger lately. Life just seems to have gotten in the way! I have been very saddened to hear the news of all the looting and riots over in London, many gorgeous buildings and lives have been damaged as a result. However things are still moving along in preparation of the 2012 Olympics next year and I am rather looking forward to seeing some of the architecture emerge. Whilst checking out Dezeen, I came across the design for the new aquatics centre that has recently been completed and was designed by Zaha Hadid. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with her work. Some I absolutely admire where others seem a bit too futuristic and fluid like to me. But I think the aquatics centre is pretty stunning.. Check out Dezeen for more images.

HILL DWELLER

This is the very stunning and stylish home of a friend and fellow interior designer, that has been featured on Australian House & Garden. Located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, the house takes its inspiration from Mid-Century classic architecture. The open plan house looks out onto a gorgeous garden and is the perfect family home. Sheer gorgeousness alert..

BLOSSOM LOVE

It's been a long winter here and we still have another month to go. But I feel there is hope, on our walk yesterday afternoon we came across some blossom, makes you feel that spring is not too far away! Doesn't it look gorgeous in a vase?

I have a stunning home to show you later this afternoon, one I have had the pleasure of being able to spend some time in!

SLOWPOKE

This is a gorgeous little cafe located in Fitzroy, Melbourne designed by Sasufi. The main feature in the space is a 12 metre long recycled timber wall, that looks like a new product out on the market that is a stacked timber tile. Has anyone seen or used this? All the furniture in the cafe is thrifted and the tabletops are made of recycled timber floorboards. The budget was very tight and I think it is a fantastic solution! Can't wait to get over to Melbourne, there seems to be so much going on over there at the moment.

STRING LOVE

Happy Monday all! I have been putting some thought into the design of our home office and shelving is definitely high on the priority. I want something that looks great, isn't too heavy in apperance and doesn't dominate the room. The 'String' shelving by Nisse Strinning is a very stunning solution. The only problem is choosing the combination and colour - white for me though!
